Women's Ligue d’Or 2026: FBA completes another double and retains national crown

Friends Basketball Association (FBA) has once again cemented its status as the dominant force in Ivorian women's basketball. The Gladiators captured the 2025-26 national championship after defeating SOA in the first two games of the Playoff Finals, securing a second consecutive National Cup and League double.
After winning Game 1 67-54 on June 6 at the Palais des Sports de Treichville, FBA completed the sweep the following day with a hard-fought 66-63 victory over SOA. The result gave the defending champions a 2-0 series win, eliminating the need for a decisive third game and allowing them to successfully defend their title.
The undisputed star of the Finals was Laetitia Sahié, who earned Finals MVP honors after two dominant performances. In Game 1, she recorded 20 points, 17 rebounds, and 6 assists. She followed that up with an outstanding performance in Game 2, posting 30 points, 25 rebounds, and 3 assists, finishing with a game-high efficiency rating of 38.
Having already won the National Cup earlier this season, FBA completes another remarkable campaign by capturing both major domestic trophies for the second straight year. The championship also secures the club a place in the upcoming Women's Basketball Africa League (WBAL), where it will represent Côte d'Ivoire on the continental stage.
